Before comparing providers or opening a role, write down the person, the work, the operating model, the evidence, and the next permitted decision. A checklist does not make an employment path valid; it makes missing ownership visible.
Role and manager
- Role outcome and scope are written down
- A named manager owns day-to-day work
- Interview and selection decision owners are explicit
- The worker’s expected team, tools, and working hours are clear
Candidate and evidence
- The opportunity is explained before role-specific sharing
- Candidate consent and withdrawal path are defined
- Evaluation evidence has a source and human reviewer
- A correction path exists for important information
Employment and readiness
- The intended worker model is documented
- Legal/employment questions have qualified review
- Cost categories and assumptions have an effective date
- Funding, offer, checks, payroll, benefits, and equipment gates have owners
Start and support
- Manager has a first-week plan
- Access and equipment owners are known
- Worker support and escalation paths are visible
- Exceptions, changes, and offboarding responsibilities are documented
